Eternal Security-Bible Study Romans 5:2 Part 4

Let’s start today’s study with God’s word:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercyhe has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:3-5

When I first read this verse I was overwhelmed by a sense of security and hope. I became thankful and glad to know that my God, who caused me to be born again though faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, is guarding my faith for salvation. Let me say that again: Almighty God has saved me, He has an inheritance for me that will not perish, and this imperishable inheritance is being kept in heaven for me. My faith in His Son Christ Jesus is being guarded so that I am eternally secure. Read more

Eternal Security-Bible Study Romans 5:2 Part 3

OK the past two articles have given us such a blessing of knowledge. We found out that because of our faith in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross that we have been justified and now have peace with God. Which is a lot better than being at war with God. That peace is eternal because the fullness of God’s wrath was completely poured out (for those who believe) on Jesus Christ. If you “shout” then now is your time. This is one of the greatest truths found in the bible.

We also learned that we are continually forgiven of Sin because Jesus Christ is always making intercession for us to the Father. This scripture sums it all up:

“For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.” Romans 5:10

The death of Christ completely paid the price for our sin. That’s how powerful the work of Christ is. Now even more powerful is what He does after His death. Read more

Eternal Security-Bible Study Romans 5:1 Part 2

Last Study we started on the 6 reasons why a true believer in the Lord Jesus has eternal security. We found out that peace has been made with God on our behalf by the work of Christ Jesus on the cross. God’s wrath was completely poured out on Christ for our sin. And now when we stand before God when we die our salvation has been purchased and completed. That is why Paul says:

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1

So probably you might be asking: “Well OK Brandon so Jesus Christ grants us peace with God for our sin. But what keeps that peace between us and God? Can we lose this peace with God? How is this possible? Also does Jesus continuously save us?

This truth is still mind boggling to me as well. I had to get some help from Pastor-Teacher John MacArthur:

“You see, Jesus not only…now listen to this, very important…He not only reconciled us to God initially, but He maintains that reconciliation and that is His high priestly work. You understand that? First John 1:7 says: “He keeps on cleansing us from all…what?…sin.” You see, the continual cleansing, the continual mediation, the continual washing of our sin provides for us the maintaining of that reconciliation Do you see? So you have two tremendous truths that cannot really be perceived. In the one hand we are at peace with God forever because every sin we will ever commit was already borne by Christ. And so there is nothing to violate our reconciliation, for the sin for which we should be cast out was paid for and covered.” Read more

Eternal Security-Bible Study Romans 5:1 Part 1

It seems like we will be in Romans 5 for a while because of the abundance of soul saving, mind renewing truth that can simply blow a persons mind. I understand why most church leaders stay away from this book. They have absolutely no clue of what the Apostle Paul is talking about. But if one would dedicate themselves to diligent study and remove all human thought process and allow the Holy Spirit to do His job we can learn.

In the last study we biblically proved that the wrath of God is continually poured and will be poured out on sin. We systematically broke down the scriptures and we were enlightened on just how God feels about sin and those who commit it. This helped us to fully understand what we have been justified from.

Towards the end of the study I lightly touched on the subject of eternal security. I know that this subject is a touchy one for a lot of reasons. For one, people try to put put God in a box like a pizza. They can’t seem to let Him be the Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent God that He is. They also don’t fully trust in His word. So when tough passages of scripture are taught like Romans Chapter 5 most get butt hurt when you teach exactly what Paul wrote. Read more

What is Justification? Bible Study-Romans 5:1 Part 2

I said in a earlier post that as a minister (servant) of Jesus Christ it is my duty to not only teach the word of God but also to protect it. And the way that I can do that is to correctly teach it. With the abundance of false teachers, doctrines, and “christians” that can be found we must have faithful ministers who will yet study God’s word and proclaim the truth. And that truth is only found in one place: The word of God. All human thinking and ideology is false. All human common sense is utterly corrupt and will lead people to death. We must get back to the scriptures and place no other authority before them. Remember this:

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16 Read more
