The other day my sister (Shannon) came to my bible study to hear the gospel preached. I was tremendously excited because this was her first time attending, so I used a study I had done a while back titled, “How the gospel satisfies the sinners need.” This study was an adaptation of Pastor John MacArthur’s series he did on the gospel at the last Sheppard’s Conference. Since I’ve left the charismatic chaos and gospel hardened congregation of Childress Memorial Church of God in Christ, I have studied God’s word exclusively and read many books written by some of the top theologians alive today. I have also waxed long in the theologians of old, the early church fathers, who labored in sound doctrine sometimes giving their very lives for their beliefs.
I say that because I used to be so worried about being different and getting my own interpretation from God’s word so that I would sound interesting and hip. So I ignored the teachers and gifts to the body of believers from Christ. But now, like the Apostle Paul, I no longer regard people according to the flesh, no longer viewing other teachers of Scripture as competition and no longer viewing audiences and readers as followers seeking their approval and support. I see them in two ways now: 1. As either unsaved and needing to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ or 2. As a believer who needs to be rebuked, exhorted, or encouraged to continue onward in the Christian faith.
But I digress… Read more
Ok, enough is enough! I am so tired of seeing biblically clueless pastors and undiscerning professing “Christians” rant and rave about their abundance and blessings that supposedly comes from the Lord. I’m so tired of bible studies that go like this, “This is what the word of God says, but what do you think about it, or what do you think He is saying?” I am beside myself at the present exacerbation of the American church that thinks so highly of their so-called transcendent worship (a slow song) and their errant praise (a fast song).
Go to any typical “church building” on any corner here in San Antonio, and not only will you not encounter God there, because the preacher has no clue who God is, but you will also be hard-pressed to find a true Christian at all, sadly not even at least one who is just biblically immature or in dire straits of sound doctrine (although I must admit that thankfully we have). Billy Goats (false Christians) run, fill, and protect their temples of satan worship with almost Mama Bear towards her cubs-like aggression, running off the true sheep that won’t compromise to their lies, and publicly criticizing anyone who desires to speak the truth. “ Everyone thought I was this happy and vivacious full-time minister. I was always the one to help others with their problems. At the same time, though, I felt as if I were dying inside. Disquieting thoughts and mental anguishwere taking a toll on me. I started to feel alienated from people. I just wanted to stay home in bed. For months, I begged Jehovah to let me die.’ —Vanessa” —The Watchtower, June 1, 1997, p. 24
“Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!” 2 Corinthians 13:5 Read more
Today I just wanted to encourage you with a portion of Scripture that has really brought me to repentance, and continued faith in Jesus Christ. I pray that God’s Spirit, by His word, would move you to repentance as well. I love you all! Brdavision
The Apostle Paul attacked the false doctrine that propagates that a person can be saved and yet still live in a state of continuous (unchanged or uninterrupted), practiced (Someone who is an expert in doing something because of long experience), sin.
Slaves to Righteousness
“What then? Are we to sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. Before I left Childress Memorial Church of God in Christ, I sat down with the Senior
hireling pastor, the 70+ year old Bishop Samuel Edward
Iglehart, for a three-hour conversation. What we discussed centered around the biblical ignorance that the church was under. His cataclysmic failure to preach a biblical gospel that souls might be converted, and his failure to protect the flock by introducing the church to false teachers.
The false teacher that was mentioned was Bishop Noel Jones who is a noted Oneness Pentecostal known for their heretical view of the God-head, their perversion of who the Christ of the bible is, and consequently their works righteousness perspective on soteriology. Read more
“Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan.” (Luke 17:15-16)
The man fell down at Jesus’ feet; he did not feel perfectly in his place until he was lying there. “I am nobody, Lord,” he seemed to say, and therefore he fell on his face.
But the place for his prostration was “at Jesus’ feet.” I would rather be nobody at Christ’s feet than everybody anywhere else! There is no place so honorable as down at the feet of Jesus. Ah, to lie there always, and just love him wholly, and let self die out!
Oh, to have Christ standing over you as the one figure overshadowing your life henceforth and forever! True thankfulness lies low before the Lord. Added to this there was worship. He fell down at Jesus’ feet, glorifying God and giving thanks unto him.
Let us worship our Savior. Let others think as they like about Jesus, but we will put our finger into the print of the nails and say, “My Lord and my God!” If there be a God, he is God in Christ Jesus to us.
We shall never cease to adore him who has proved his Godhead by delivering us from leprosy of sin. All worship be to his supreme majesty!
There are a myriad of ways that satan uses to attempt to undermine the plans of God, (notice I said the word attempt, the truth is that satan never successfully thwarts the plans of God. He is merely a tool that God uses to carry out His bidding) one of those ways is to fabricate lies to create confusion about those whom the Lord has sent out to witness, preach, and teach His gospel. I know it because I’ve been the victim of if since I left Childress Memorial Church of God in Christ.
Prior to my departure I sat down with the Senior Pastor, Bishop S. E. Iglehart, for a three hour session ranging from a number of topics from church polity, the error of the tithe, and to the lack of God’s word (the Gospel) being preached. I do have that entire conversation recorded and I will release it soon to further prove what happen. Read more
