Paul Washer declares war on the “Sinners Prayer”
The last gig I played with the supposed “gospel” jazz group, the Anointed
Davison Boyz, was at New Creation Church here in San Antonio. The “pastor” hireling there, “Bishop” Copeland, told men to squeeze their neighbors hand if they wanted to be saved. No repentance, no recognition of their sin, no confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, just pure man induced false salvation. As a result New “Creation”, ironically, was not doing what the bible said to do (Preach the Gospel) for an actual new creation to happen. As a mercy from God, in between one of the song we played, God allowed me to share the gospel with the hundreds in attendance, especially pointing out the fact that a person who claims to be saved should show fruit of their profession of faith. (1 John 2:3-6)
According to Scripture, Paul didn’t tell Timothy to preach a sappy, emotionally charged, biblically inaccurate sermon to get men to make a decision for Christ. He told him:
“I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” 2 Timothy 4:1-4
When the gospel is preached its power, which is the power of God for salvation (Romans 1:16), is released, and those who have been called by God before the foundation of the world will hear it, repent, and believe. God does not need mans help, He saves whom He will.
Sadly that “time” Paul said would come is here, and it pains me to say this, but most members there (at New Creation) probably wanted to hear that non-convicting, post modern foolery aka false gospel.
Some people came up to me afterwards and expressed deep gratitude for the faithful preaching of God’s word but I only received blank stares from those in leadership. This video of Paul Washer preaching against decisionalism brought back memories of my experience there, and I wanted to share it with you.
Pray that God would send a watchman or a warning call to those who are still caught up in false teaching.

Great points. My view: The Bible doesn’t ever ask you to say when you were saved or when you said some prayer. It does tell you to examine whether you are saved now, and why.

The sinners prayer is a RELIGIOUS RITUAL that people use as a cop-out to say, “oh, I prayed a prayer,” when in fact praying a prayer won’t save you, for we are saved by GRACE through FAITH, not PRAYING through MEANINGLESS WORDS.

If false converts would just let down their pride , submit , and be teachable they can finally know the TRUTH ! But some people just want to be RIGHT and refuse to understand. I pray for them ! I enjoyed reading this brother ! Thank you !

#True!!!!,but what I don’t understand is that pastors/teachers in the church,that preach/teach about been religious…ask sinners to say the sinners prayer!…doesn’t make any sense at all and you can find the sinners prayer been said an Many churches today! (*confused*)
Because most of those pastor’s are either 1. Not saved or 2. Ignorant of God’s word either way they will be held accountable for what they have done. James 3:1 is a warning……
